Before the Edinburgh College of Art Costume Show 2017, the college held a press shoot where photographers were invited to come and take pictures of several costumes to help advertise the show. I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of six people who got to showcase their costumes.

It was a really crazy morning where photographers just came and grabbed our models and took them to a space where they wanted to photograph them. It was a mad rush to follow our models and the photographers to make sure they were showing the costumes in a way that was accurately portraying the character that we had created.

The day after the press shoot a lot of the newspapers had picked up some of the images and I really couldn’t believe it when I realised that my costume featured as the main image in a lot of the papers. When I found out my costume was the soul image from the shoot in The Times I freaked out, I never thought that my costume would ever feature in a national newspaper with many readers with people all over the country seeing it.
